Calibration in the Connected Workplace

One solution to plan, schedule, document, and report on your calibration process

When it comes to your business’s mission-critical equipment, accuracy, reliability, and quality must be on target. In industries like life sciences, healthcare, and manufacturing, you expect precision accuracy from the equipment you use to measure, monitor, diagnose, develop and manufacture. You understand that the systematic calibration of equipment is essential.

However, it’s a daunting task to ensure a standard program is consistently followed for tracking, scheduling, and documenting your equipment inspections and calibrations. Especially if you’re using outdated calibration software, spreadsheets, or worse – pen and paper.

As part of the Connected Workplace, our Maintenance solution includes Calibration which provides you with a modern and streamlined calibration solution.

Significantly reduce the time it takes to perform a calibration while simultaneously delivering high-quality, actionable calibration data and full audit trails.

Calibration is too important to do on spreadsheets or paper

Using a modern solution significantly reduces errors while delivering audit-ready data and establishing quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Our calibration capabilities are centered around a user-friendly, intuitive interface. The app allows technicians to record – per test point – input and output calibration values, reference standards used, and comments. Once entered, the PASS/ADJUST/FAIL status and errors automatically calculate for each test point, and results are displayed and stored with a date/time stamp.

Key Features

  • Asset Specific Calibration Criteria – specify the calibration parameters and tolerance levels for each asset.
  • Automatic Calculations – Error and PASS/ADJUST/FAIL status calculate in real-time during calibration.
  • Reference Standard Management with Reverse Traceability – Ensures only serviceable reference standards are used to perform calibrations. Reverse Traceability is there if something goes wrong.
  • Test Weight Management – Add test weight standards with both conventional mass and nominal mass within the system. Access to test weight standards automates the calculation of the input weight for the test point.
  • Range of Calibration Tests – Tests can be selected as individual data sheet templates, including weighing tests, repeatability tests, eccentricity tests, and minimum weight tests.
  • Out of the Box Formulas – Common error calculations and math functions are supported, covering most assets calibrated.
  • Compliance Reporting – Detailed calibration history is stored with each asset. Real-time work order scheduling kicks in if a problem is identified during a calibration inspection. Technicians can create corrective work orders directly within the application.
  • Flexible Configurations – Change transfer functions and error tolerances to account for different calibration and calculation scenarios
  • Dashboards – These insights will help with scheduling and create more efficient workflows.

A calibration solution as part of your equipment maintenance platform makes sense

Too often, calibration programs are disconnected, data gets lost, making compliance reporting difficult.

For example, a work order gets printed from your legacy software and handed to the calibration team; they perform the work and write down the calibration notes or input them on a spreadsheet. Eventually, the information may or may not get entered to close out the work order.

The Connected Workplace Difference

A single platform solution saves you significant time and eliminates costly mistakes associated with manual data management.

A total Connected Workplace solution can track each critical device, keep them secure, manage existing inventory, resolve any technical issues that arise, and manage calibration – all on the same platform. Having calibration as part of an overall asset management program provides exceptional device service history and comprehensive reporting.

Device Inventory and Management – Reliable and consistent tracking of all critical devices are the foundation of an excellent calibration program.

No matter what technician or department works on a device, they use our mobile app to update and report on their equipment maintenance activity, resulting in impeccably accurate device service history for your calibration technicians

Preventative Maintenance Scheduling – Create and automate calibration schedules.

Work orders are created to automatically run based on calibration due date, device performance, validation, or certification type. Avoid equipment downtime due to delayed or missed calibrations. You can schedule the calibration activity and auto-assign calibration work orders to select vendors or internal technicians.

Comprehensive Compliance Reporting – An essential part of calibration reporting is equipment conditions.

Connecting all maintenance management and calibration data means better overall compliance reporting. You can create dashboards to spot trends, identify calibration issues, and efficiently manage calibration technician resources.
